This dance drama was created as a divine offering to Lord Krishna. Krishnanattom survives in its glory at the Guruvayoor Srikrishna Temple.

The stress in Krishnanattom is given on group movements and it is presented as a serial spanning eight nights. The performance is based on Krishna Geetha. The actors conform themselves to a set of facial expressions, movements and gestures.
