The central hall on the first floor was the Coronation Hall of the Rajas of Cochin and there is a
display of dresses, turbans and palanquins which once belonged to these rulers.
The glory of the palace lies in the murals which are in the best traditions of the Hindu temple art and the religious, decorative and stylised synagogue. Museum The Museum is situated at the Durbal Hall
on Durbar Hall Road. An enormous building, it exhibits collections of 19th century oil paintings, old coins, sculptures and Mughal paintings PariKshith Thampuran Museum This is situated on the Durbar Hall Grounds on the D.H.Road, Ernakulam. Collections of 19th century oil paintings, old coins,
sculptures in stone and plaster of paris and copies of mural paintings are exhibited here. It is open from 9.30 a.m. to 12 noon and from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on all days except mondays and national holidays.
An Art Gallery is also functioning at the Museum building.
